Following a Politburo reshuffle on Wednesday, President Emmerson Mnangagwa yesterday appointed a Deputy Minister for the Environment Ministry.

Barbra Rwodzi who is a legislator for Chirumhanzu in Midlands is now the Deputy Minister of Environment, Climate, Tourism and Hospitality Industry.

In a Press statement dated December 2, Dr. Misheck Sibanda the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet wrote that Rwodzi is a holder of a Masters Degree in Business Administration as well as a Bachelor of Honors Degree in Business Studies and was to be on the top brass of the Ministry with immediate effect.

Rwodzi who is also a successful businesswoman, has taken up the post as it was vacant since the new dispensation came into power.

“She is a successful businesswoman who owns a number of companies with interests in energy solutions, financial services, clothing and community development projects,” read part of the statement.

The Environment Ministry was one of the ministries which had no deputy ministers since the coming in of the new dispensation.
