ED Reshuffles Politburo,Makes Controversial Appointments

President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is also the first secretary of ZANU-PF yesterday reshuffled the Politburo which is one of the most powerful organs in the ruling party.

In a surprising move to many, the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa was appointed the Secretary for Environment and Tourism to replace the expelled Prisca Mupfumira.

Christopher Mutsvangwa who is also war veterans association chairman was appointed secretary for information and publicity as he replaces the late national hero Simon Khaya Moyo who succumbed to cancer last week.

His wife Monica Mutsvangwa who is also Information and Publicity Minister, was appointed deputy secretary for information replacing the late S.K Moyo.

Mashonaland Central Minister of State and Devolution Monica Mavhunga is now deputy secretary for education while Cain Mathema was replaced by Alice Dube on the post of politburo member.

Mike Bimha is now in the controversial office of political commisar as he was the acting secretary for information during S. K. Moyo’s illness.

He replaced the now Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Mozambique Victor Matemadanda.

Mashonaland Central political linchpin Kenneth Musanhi took over the position of secretary for production and labor after the demotion of Cabinet Minister Josiah Hungwe from the post.

Bulawayo Metropolitan Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister Judith Ncube was appointed politburo member for her province while Mashonaland West former ZANU-PF provincial chairman and Justice Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi replaced Christopher Mutsvangwa as Secretary for Science and Technology.
