The Zimbabwe women’s national soccer team,the Mighty Warriors have crashed out of the ongoing 2021Cosafa Women’s Championship in South Africa.
The Mighty Warriors had beaten Botswana 3-0 to keep themselves in contention for a semi final berth.
However their efforts were all in vain as Malawi snatched the final semi final slot with a superior goal difference with a 2-0 win over Angola.
The Mighty Warriors started the tournament with a tough match against Tanzania in which Zimbabwe lost 3-0 before a 2-1 victory over South Sudan.
The result means the Mighty Warriors have now failed to progress to the knockout stage for the second time in a row.
The 2011 Cosafa Champions will be back in action in two weeks as they play back to back matches against Eswatini in the 2022 African Women Cup Of Nations Qualifiers.
