Chevrons wins Scotland T20 series

The Zimbabwe national cricket side,the Chevrons have won the T20 series against Scotland.

The team produced one of their best batting performances to hand the side a 2-1 series win in Scotland in a thrilling encounter.

20 year old Milton Shumba was the star of the show as his 66 runs off 29 balls helped Zimbabwe to seal the series win in emphatic fashion.

The youngster hit two fours and six maximums that helped Zimbabwe to escape from the jaws of defeat.

Scotland had set the Chevrons a competitive 178 run chase for victory.
The host looked to be in control after ending a 60-run opening stand between Regis Chakabva and Craig Ervine and then reducing Zimbabwe to 63 for three in the 10th over.

However it was Zimbabwe who had the last say in the last over as the team turned the match in the 18th over and successfully chased down the total in 19.1 overs,posting 180 runs to win the match and the series.

The series win completed a great weekend in the shortest format for the Zimbabwean national teams.

Earlier in the day, the women’s side qualified for the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifiers for the second consecutive times with a 14 run win over regional rivals Namibia.

The women’s side were dominants throughout the tournament and ended the tournament with 7 wins and no loses
