MDC Alliance condemns government sanctioned evictions

The country’s biggest opposition party the MDC Alliance has slammed the ZANU PF regime for evicting citizens to pave way for big mining corporates.

The government plans to evict villagers in Mutoko to create space for Chinese mining firm Shanghai Haoying Mining Investments which was allocated mining rights to mine the black granite on over 168 hectares of land.

The Nelson Chamisa led party condemned the move and threw their weight behind the affected people.

“We condemn the illegitimate regime’s pattern of displacing indigenous citizen to make way for big mining companies,MDC Alliance said on their twitter page.

The party promised to find ways to protect people by fighting the evictions.

“We are with the people & are taking steps to fight fir their protection cultural heritage and dignity as part of our rural mobilization strategy.#Register ToVote,”the MDCA added
