THE GREATEST African karateka of all-time is non other than our very own Zimbabwean Shihan Samson Muripo.A few years ago he was renowned as a Sensei another level of master black belt karateka’s.His rise was with a lot of support from trusted fellow karateka’s especially another black belt karateka Dr Manson Mnaba.Dr Mnaba supported him in training as a fellow fighter sparring with him and also in ensuring his journey to japan , Russia and other countries for his fights were realised through his Arosume properties.
Sensei literally means “former born, or one who has gone before,” and is used to address all teachers.The most senior level Aikido instructors are increasingly using the title Shihan, meaning “to be a model,” which conveys respect as Master (usually also awarded with a rank of 7th Dan and above).The journey he travelled will be shared on TechMag TV and TechnoMag.
Shihan Muripo shared with TechnoMag his journey to become a two-time world champion.
Muripo’s life experience and his journey to win two world titles is not without any challenges. Shihan Muripo expressed to this journalist that ” i am a devout Christian fellowshipping with End Time Message founded by the late PROPHET William Marion Branham and it is my christian faith that has gotten me where i am.”
”Dr Mnaba has been a pillar of support both spiritually , physically in my training and even financially.”He alluded to TechnoMag.
His first world title was in 2009, when he won the middleweight category at the Kyokushin World Cup in Japan, to become the first African to win a world title.
The second title was in 2019 when he was crowned champion, at the sixth Kyokushin Karate World Cup in Moscow, Russia.
Muripo was quoted as saying ”from Sensei to Shihan a journey, to being a two-time World Kyokushin Karate champion. ”
“One can achieve anything they set their heart and mind on, by being diligent, persistent, disciplined. ” Said Muripo on his rise to being a Shihan.
Contacted for comment by TechnoMag, Dr Mnaba once said ” i was once his sparring partner” humbly and this speaks volumes of the character of both men.The two follow the same Christian faith and even fellowshipped at the same End Time Message Church founded by William Marion Branham and both acknowledge God in all they have accomplished both in karate and in general.
