Christian College of Southern Africa (CCOSA) has been hit by COVID19 several students are reported to have tested positive, Techmag. tv has established.
However, the authorities at the school are reported to have ignored the matter without putting any COVID19 precautions in place.
A student who spoke to Techmag. tv said that the COVID19 cases have sent students into panic mode.
“We have a crisis at CCOSA, several students have tested positive for COVID19 it has been confirmed.”
“Yesterday we had health officials from Parirenyatwa Hospital who came to school to break the news that one student had tested positive, we had two students who came to confirm they had also tested positive, “ he said.
However, the school authorities have not taken measures to contain the spread.
“We are faced with a situation whereby the school administration is not doing anything about it, they are not taking any measures like contact tracing,” he said.
He added that administration is not closing down the college despite the positive cases which have sent students into panic mode as we are preparing for exams.
COVID19 cases in the country have been increasing.
As of 1 July 2021, Zimbabwe had 51 221 confirmed cases, including 39 411 recoveries and 1 808 deaths.
To date, a total of 782 698 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.
