The Head of State and Government and Commander in Chief of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces, President Emmerson Mnangagwa has extended Chief Justice Luke Malaba’s term of office by an additional five years after his medical report proved that he is still mentally and physically fit to continue in the esteemed judicial office.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Dr Misheck Sibanda wrote to the Chief Justice advising him that President Mnangagwa has accepted his election to continue in the office of Chief Justice beyond 70 years for an additional five years.
Judicial Service Commission secretary Mr Walter Chikwana confirmed the latest development.
This extension had already been awash on social media after the President gave accent to Constitutional Amendment bill Number 2.
Anonymous critics said ”it is an exposure of a rogue group of shenanigans running a country in a mafia style.”
Whilst on the other end government feels Malaba is the only one qualified for the top job
