The host went on to indicate what the TSCZ is doing if onInformation, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Harare on Wednesday said, “ Regarding Public Transport, Cabinet noted with concern the increased flouting of COVID-19 prevention control measures in the public transport system.”“In this regard, Cabinet agreed that Law and Order should increase surveillance on public transporters.”

It is rather alarming to most commuters TechMag Tv spoke to who indicated their dismay with the prevailing transport challenges in the country which have not been addressed yet government still plans to increase surveillance on public transporters.

The country is currently facing a transport crisis while ZUPCO buses have since been unreliable and inadequate creating room for public transporters to fill the gap against the law.

Ironically government is turning a blind eye on the daily transport struggles but rather insist on survelliance..

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa during a post-Cabinet media briefing in Harare on Wednesday said, “ Regarding Public Transport, Cabinet noted with concern the increased flouting of COVID-19 prevention control measures in the public transport system.”

“In this regard, Cabinet agreed that Law and Order should increase surveillance on public transporters.”

In March last year government banned all independent public transport operators, with only the state-controlled Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) allowed to ferry commuters and members of the public.

The ZUPCO buses have been failing and commuters have turned to ‘ Mushikashika’, the banned private taxi operators.

Only yesterday this TechMag TV journalist witnessed police harassing commuters beating up cars with baton sticks and damaging many of them in the process in their quest to enforce cabinet resolutions.Recently TechMag Tv had an exclusive with the Acting Director of Operations of the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe, Mr Ernest Muchena who sided with the law enforcement agents in order to preserve lives though alluding there is need for a lasting solution on this matter.
