Zimbabwe recieves 3rd batch of Covid-19 Vaccines

Zimbabwe this evening received Indian COVID-19 Vaccines , despite citizens hesitation.The country received the first consignment of the COVID-19 vaccines developed in India COVAXIN, despite the low number of citizens who have turned out for the Vaccination.

Government is targeting to vaccinate 10 millon people to achieve head immunity.

Zimbabwe was one of the first African countries to receive vaccines for Covid-19.

However, the country has managed to administer 59,000 of those doses due to the hesitant citizens being reluctant to take the Jab.

The country took delivery of 35 000 doses of Covid-19 Covaxin donated by the Indian Government, received by the President Mr ED Mnangagwa.

President Mnangagwa received the first batch of 35 000 of the 75 000 that were donated by India while arrangements to have the second batch of 40 000 doses are underway.

“We are going to take delivery of 35 000 doses of Covid-19 Covaxin donated by the Indian Government, and will be received by the President.” said the Permanent Secretary(PS) in the Ministry of Health Air Commodore Dr Jasper Chimedza, yesterday, and today it happened as the Ps had advised.
