There was drama at the just ended MDCT election after three presidential aspirants walked out in the middle of the election process citing vote rigging.
The three candidates include Elias Mudzuri, Morgen Komichi and former MDCT acting president Thokozani Khupe.
Komichi and Khupe had to run for their dear life after members alleged to belong to the other contestant, Douglas Mwonzora, bayed for the duo’s blood.
This resulted in Thokozani Khupe invoking her presidential powers by declaring the election null and void and subsequently suspended Douglas Mwonzora.
This publication caught up with Mwonzora’s campaign spokesperson Witness Dube who said the alleged power to suspend an opponent during an ongoing election is nonentity according to his interpretation of the party’s constitution.
