High Court judge Justice Pisirai Kwenda on Wednesday reserved judgment for the ruling in which the parents of the late socialite Mitchelle “Moana” Amuli, are arguing over her burial arrangements.
Moana passed away on November 8 in a horrific accident that also claimed the lives of Harare socialite Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure, Malawian fugitive Limumba Karim and Mozambican model Alichia Adams.
Judge Kwenda said,” I’m aware that I made an undertaking that the ruling will be ready by 2:30pm but the case isn’t a common one so it requires going through thoroughly.”
” My ruling is not yet ready. My assistant will be in touch with the lawyers. Judgement is reserved,”he said.
Following her death A DNA test had to be done to ascertain body and when burial was set, the parents fought over the burial process.
Moana’s father Ishmael Amuli wants her late daughter to be buried the Islamic way at the muslims section in Warren Hills Cementry.
While her and mother Yolander Kuvaoga wants a celebrity send off at Zororo Memorial Park in Chitungwiza preferred by Kuvaoga.
The two families have then been involved in arguments while fighting over the body.
Kuvaoga then approached the High Court seeking an interdict against the arrangement and for the registrar general to cancel the burial order.
The High Court however , has reserved the judgement saying its a complex matter.
