More than 50 people have their heads been chopped in the Northern part of Mozambique by Islamist soldiers, Mozambican state media has reported.
According to BBC reports, villagers who attempted to escape were caught, and taken to the local football pitch where they were decapitated and cleaved to pieces in an outrage completed from Friday night to Sunday, This attack in the country has been since 2017 where the Islamic militants have killed up to 2000 people in the country many women were abducted and more than 430 000 people have been left homeless in the gas-rich Cabo Delgado province.
The militants are connected to the Islamic State (IS) group, giving it a traction in southern Africa.
Numerous locals complain that they have profited little from the province’s ruby and gas enterprises.
Mozambique’s government has appealed for international help to curb the insurgency, saying its troops need specialised training.
However, according to the Human rights groups in Mozambican, the state security forces have also carried human rights abuses, including arbitrary arrests, torture and killings, during operations to curb the insurgency
