ZERA Announces New Fuel Prices

0

Zimbabwe Energy Regulatory Authority (ZERA) has approved an increase in fuel prices exactly a month after the previous announcement.

The move is with immediate effect.

Diesel has now gone up to ZWL $82.05 per litre, an increase of ZWL $1.80 from the previous price of ZWL $81.85 per litre.

Blended Petrol has gone up to ZWL$97.11 per litre.

This is an increase of ZWL $0.51 from the previous price of ZWL$97.62 per litre.

However, for those buying in foreign currency, the United States Dollar prices for diesel remains unchanged at US$1.00 per litre but petrol has gone up to US$1.19 per litre from the previous price of US$1.00.

The price of fuel has now become more stable since the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) introduced the weekly foreign currency action system in June. Although the price is subject to change, it is no longer changing on a weekly basis like it used to be.

The increase in the price of fuel comes at a time when fuel queues have been resurfacing across the country due to its shortages.
