ZANU PF spokesperson Patrick Chinamasa said the party has declared war against name droppers who are abusing names of senior officials in the party, government or the first family.
This comes after the name dropping has been on its peak in the country after the Henrietta Rushwaya gold smuggling case has been linked to First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa and her son

“ There are people who allege that they are relatives of senior leaders and go about conning people in the name of our leadership. They should stop that”.
In a media brief yesterday, Chinamasa said the party has fired some of the name droppers who abuse the name of the party leaders and investigations are still underway to fish them out
“…here at the party, we have fired some of these name droppers, conmen and con women who abuse the name of the party and leadership”
“We are still doing some investigations and in the next press conference, we will name and shame them”
The party has however challenged the media to expose all name droppers and fraudsters whenever get contact with them
“We challenge the media players to expose these fraudsters and extortionists whenever you come across them”
On Sunday, First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa had to issue out a statement after a man who is embroiled in the gold smuggling case including Henrietta Rushwaya erroneously claimed that individuals from the First Family were included.
Furthermore, far-reaching investigations that were conveyed by the police have since set up that the accused man, Gift Karanda, misled police so as to block or defeat the course of justice.
