Movement for Democratic Change (MDC T) Secretary General Douglas Mwonzora with the help of the Zimbabwe Republic Police forced the arrest of MDCT Harare Youth Leader Paul Gorekore and eight others who were housed at MRT House, popularly known as Harvest House.
The nine member team were arrested at midnight under unclear circumstances.
The 2014 MDC T youths took over Harvest House early last month and their Chairperson Paul Gorekore had summoned leaders to unite and pave a way forward for the party.
Pedzisayi Ruhanya tweeted,”#Breaking: At 12.15am @DMwonzora came escorted by ZRP, forced the arrest of MDC-T Harare Youth Chairperson Gorekore and eight others who were in MRT House.”
“Gorekore is known for calling for unity amongst MDC Leaders. They are detained at Harare Central Police Station.”
It is still not clear what the charges leveled against them by the police were.
