The City of Harare has said garbage collections were greatly affected by the fuel shortage which was caused by a delay in the delivery of fuel to the council by their supplier.
This was communicated by the city of Harare in a Facebook post that reads:
“Garbage collection is being affected by a shortage of fuel. Council has paid for its supplies and is yet to get delivery of the product. We will update when we receive fuel,”
The Harare City council has been under fire mainly from the government which accuses them of failing to provide adequate service to Harare residents. The City Council has said the government interferes with council operations to the point of taking time to approve the budget proposed by the council during hyperinflation.
