The UK embassy in Zimbabwe has urged the government to investigate the thuggery attack on Journalists and Takudzwa Ngadziore , ZINASU president last week Friday while conveying a presser near Impala car rental.
Journalists were last week Friday attacked and robbed of their equipments while Ngadziore was tourtured whilst covering a press conference in regards of the implication of Impala car rental in the abduction of MSU student Tawanda Muchehiwa.
Posting on the microblogging site, Twitter on Monday the UK embassy in Zimbabwe , “Look forward to seeing full investigation carried out by Zimbabwean authorities into these attacks, including the assault of Takudzwa Ngadziore. Vital that Journalist are able to do their work without fears for their safety #defendmediafreedom.”
Ngadziore was attacked by men in casual clothes and handed over to the police , he was denied bail yesterday and remanded in custody until 5 October.
While quite a number of Journalists sustained injuries and had their equipments destroyed and stolen.
Reports claim that the event unfolded while police officers were watching without doing anything.
Zimbabwe Online Content Creators (ZOCC) has condemned such brutal attacks and robbery on Journalists , urging the authorities to bring the prepators to book.
