MDC Alliance Vice Chair Job Sikhala has appealed to the High Court for bail after he was denied by the Harare Magistrate on Thursday.
Sikhala appeared before the Magistrate yesterday following his arrest on August 21 on allegations of incitement public violence.
Harare Magistrate Lazini Ncube denied him bail saying he ignored police statement inviting him for an interview.
In his quest for freedom Sikhala has made an appeal to the high court in a bail application.
“ Bail appeal in terms of section 121 (1) (b) of the criminal procedure and evidence act (Cap9:07) as read together with rule 6 (1) of the high court of Zimbabwe bail rules, “ reads the application.
Police issued a statement prior to the July anti government protest saying Sikhala was wanted for an interview.
He did not show up and recorded various videos supporting the call for the July demonstrations.
Sikhala was then arrested by the police whist he was in hiding at Tynwald South after he went into hiding.
