Speaking at the funeral ceremony of the late Partson Dzamara in Mutoko, the youthful leader of the biggest opposition party in the country said MDC Alliance is a political institution that upholds unity, peace and tranquility.
Adding that violence should be dismissed in its entirety.
Chamisa said that many things were going wrong in the nation and that has impeded progress in the country.
He said his party represents light hence should not be associated with activities that exhibit darkness.
” We don’t seek for revenge, i heard some youthful members here chanting offensive slogans. We don’t want violence in the Movement for Democratic Change. Did you hear me!” Chamisa said with great emphasis.
” We can not be seen competing with darkness for evil deeds. ZANU PF beats up people, chants offensive slogans saying down with certain individuals. Ours is simply change your deeds. Chinja Maitiro, Guqula izenso. And those who don’t agree with you persuade them with sweet words of encouragement.”
Chamisa was addressing mourners who had come to share their final moments with the late political activist, Patson Dzamara, who succumbed to cancer of the colon in Harare on Wednesday.
Dzamara died after a short battle with cancer and was due for surgery.
He was 34.
He was buried on Friday in Mutoko, his home area.
