Political activist Patson Dzamara has died ahead of a scheduled cancer operation.
Dzamara was to be operated today after a total of USD 14,000 was raised by well wishers for the operation.
News of Patson Dzamara’s death was confirmed opposition political leader Nelson Chamisa and business man Nigel Chanakira who posted on Twitter.
Nigel Chanakira posted on Twitter saying, “It is with profound sadness to advise you that Dr Patson Dzamara has passed on this morning ahead of his scheduled cancer operation. Thanks to all those that had been contributing to the Fund where +US$14k had already been raised. I am personally devasted. MHDSRIP.”
MDC Alliance President Nelson Chamisa said in a Twitter post, “I’m devastated. Just received bad news from the Dzamaras. The young Dr. Patson Dzamara gone too soon. This has been a terrible 2020!”
He is popularly known for being the brother of Journalist and activist Itai Dzamara who was abducted five years ago and went missing.
