Transform Zimbabwe Party leader Jacob Ngarivhume has been denied bail by the Zimbabwean court for the third time since his arrest on July 20.
Ngarivhume who is currently languishing in jail is accused of organizing a foiled citizen demonstration dubbed July 31 movement.
Since his arrest a few days before the much anticipated demo, his lawyers have been fighting tooth and nail for their client to attain freedom.
However, their efforts have not been successful.
Friday the 21st of August 2020 marks the third time lawyers have been fighting for their client to be freed on bail.
In his bail application ruling, magistrate Trynos Utahwashe said Ngarivhiume is unfit for such judicial privilege adding that he is a danger to public safety.
”Changed circumstances are not sufficient to guarantee the safety of the public if the accused is granted bail.”
He has been remanded in custody to September 4.
Meanwhile, Ngarivhume’s joint prisoner Hopewell Chin’ono’s bail application will be heard on Monday, 24 August 2020.
Chin’ono is accused of inciting violence ahead of the July 31 movement via micro blogging, Twitter.
