President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Friday appointed Anxious Jongwe Masuka as the new Minister of Lands, Agriculture and rural settlement.
He replaces Perrance Shiri who scumbed to Covid-19 a few weeks ago.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Misheck Sibanda announced the development in a statement.
“His Excellency the President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, 505, 115 terms of Section 104 Ill and (3) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 201 Act 2013. appointed Dr. Anxious Jongwe Masuka. as Minister of Lands. Agnculture, Water and Rural Resettlement. Dr Masuka’s appointment follows the death last month of the former Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Water and Rural Resettlement, Air Chief Marshal (Rtd) Perrance Shirt, “ reads the statement.
The new Minister holds a Bachelor of Science honours degree in Agriculture majoring in crop science from the University of Zimbabwe.
He has served as lecturer and senior research officer at the UZ in the department of Biological Sciences as well as at the Zimbabwe College of Forestry between 1989 and 1995.
