Zanu PF has released a statement announcing that twenty six of their members tested positive to Covid 19 on Wednesday.The members of the ruling party that tested positive are those that are employed at the headquarters in the CBD.
Zimbabwe is currently hit hard by the COVID 19 and most companies and organizations including hospitals have since shut down after some of the employees tested positive.The nation now has over 4000 positive cases and 81 deaths and these statistics continue to increase drastically.
Patrick Chinamasa’s Acting Secretary for Information and Publicity and Party Spokesperson said in his statement,”The total number of personnel who underwent mandatory testing on 28 July 2020 is 154.The results have just come out showing that 26 tested positive to covid-19.Those affected are being informed .Those who have since been advised to go into self -isolation in line with the normal World Health Organisation (WHO) protocols on Covid-19.”
“Those who are symptomatic have been advised to seek immediate and urgent medical attention.The Party is undertaking to hold periodic testing of its staff and leadership for covid-19 in order to ensure that the working enviroment is safe.”
“The Party HQ is being fumigated by health officers and members of staff have been asked to stay home during this process.Dr David Parirenyatwa is supervising the fumigation process.”
