NSSA Records COVID-19 case, suspends operations

The National Social Security and Authority( NSSA) head office has with immediate effect suspended operations after an employee tested positive for COVID19.

The closure is a precautionary measure for deep cleaning and decontamination of the presimes.

The company announced via a statement, “NSSA management wishes to advise stakeholders of the temporary closure of NSSA House in Harare with effect from Monday 27 July 2020 to allow for deep cleaning and decontamination following the incidence of a positive COVID-19 test for one of our employees.”

According to the statement the affected employee was last seen at NSSA house on the 10th of July 2020.

The authority is also conducting contact tracing to facilitate testing for individuals who may have been in contact with the affected employee.

NSSA added, “ All other NSSA offices are safe and Shut continue to operate under the Ministry Of Health and Child Care COVID-I9 guidelines. We sincerely apologise for any inconveniences caused by the temporary Closure. Stakeholders shall be kept informed Of the situation via various media channels. including our darted media platforms.”

Due to the increase in the number of confirmed cases, a number of companies over the past weeks have been closing down.

This include Econet Wireless , OK, some ZIMRA offices, EMA , TM Pick n Pay Norton ,CIMAS among others.

COVID19 cases continue to increase now standing at 2512 including 34 deaths.
