In saying so Chamisa alluded to the contribution by Mozambique a sister country into the fight for our liberation and hence stated a good turn deserves another and likewise we as Zimbabwe must return the favour in supporting and helping Mozambique which is now under attack as we were during the liberation struggle.President Chamisa noted with concern the heightened tense environment engulfing the region as a result of a destabilised Mozambique and hence the urgency to act now.Chamisa said, ''In this regard, may we deploy solidarity to the great people of Mozambique as they go through a difficult period in their country. An unstable Mozambique is an unstable SADC and indeed an unstable Africa. A threat to one is threat to all. A lasting solution must be found in Mozambique so that there is peace and security in the region.''

MDC Alliance President Advocate Nelson Chamisa pleaded with his supporters to be peaceful with their political enemies at his mother’s funeral on Wednesday following a tense atmosphere.

Gogo Chamisa died on Monday at her rural home in Gutu.

She was 66.

The cause of her death is not yet known but the MDC Alliance leader Chamisa posted on his Twitter on Monday, “She toiled to educate me just like all mothers do for families. She taught me industry, respect, discipline, integrity and hardwork.A hardworking, multi-talented woman.A prayer warrior &pillar in the faith.Collapsed in her garden& went to be with the Lord. Rest in power Mai Nerison!”

She was buried on Wednesday at her Chidyamakuni Village, Makwiriwindi area of Chiwara.

Scores of mourners including the youthful politician’s opponents attended the funeral.

One of the attendees was Dr Thokhozani Khupe – the recently installed MDC-T leader.

Her controversial rise to power and occupation of Harvest House was necessitated by the supreme court and members of the security forces.

Khupe’s presence at the funeral did not go down well with the MDC Alliance supporters who accuse her of dining and wining with ZANU PF.

While addressing mourners in Gutu Chamisa said, “We are here to mourn Mbuya CHamisa and noone is going to be chased away for everyone is welcome to come and mourn this great woman who loved every one. This is not a rally or a perfect place for you to score political points.I will not condone such amoral behaviour,” he said.

“I advocate for peace and tranquility so was my mother so if you are present here today to cause commotion and unrest you are free to leave.I will rather be left with mourners not hooligans”

“No one should be denied a chance to mourn the dear departed, even if there are issues that hurt you, issues that are happening that you don’t agree with”.

This was after Thokozani Khupe was chased away by MDC Alliance supporters as she disembarked from her vehicle to join other mourners.

The supporters threatened to unleash violence on her, but Chamisa came to her rescue by ordering the youths not to embarrass her.

Madhuku had to cut his speech to less than a minute after his remarks were drowned in heckles by disgruntled Chamisa followers.

“Madhuku has a legal and political history, he is here with us to mourn Gogo Chamisa, some of us hold no grudges,” Chamisa said of a politician and lawyer who helped party rival Khupe win a court challenge against the opposition leader’s legitimacy,

“What he has done to come and coming as far as Harare to mourn with us should be respected”.

“To appreciate that, I say Prof Madhuku, thank you for coming to mourn my mother, we want citizens that live in peace and love.”

Gogo Chamisa is survived by six children ( four boys and two girls).
