HARARE- Minister of Information Media and Publicity Monica Mutsvangwa has issued an official statement detailing the events ahead of the burial of former president Robert Mugabe.
Mutsvangwa did not specify the burial place amid conflicting reports. Some reports say Mugabe’s family want him buried at his rural home in Zvimba, but unsubstantiated claims are that the late veteran leader will be buried at the Heroes Acre are also doing the rounds.
Addressing media on Monday, Minister Mutsvangwa said Government officials led by VP Kembo Mohadi had left the country for Singapore where Mugabe died.
The delegation according to Government is expected anytime on Wednesday, then on Thursday 12th of September, his body will be taken to National Sports stadium where Zimbabweans will be afforded a chance to bid farewell to the departed leader.
“ On Friday the 13th, his body will be then taken to National sport stadium where foreign dignitaries will pay their respects.
The burial is expected on Sunday the 15th of September,” she said.
Mugabe died in Singapore on Friday and was declared a national hero.
