The late national hero legendary music icon Dr Oliver Mtukudzi’s memorial will be held in the neighboring South Africa where he had a legion of fans.
The memorial service will be held at the Joburg Theatre in Braamfontein from 12 PM to 5 PM.
The event will be open for members of the public and is free.
Mtukudzi’s daughters Sandra and Selmor Mtukudzi will participate at the event. Apart from his daughters, Mtukudzi’s collaborators Steve Dyer and Ringo will also perform at the event. Dyer will perform with the Hugh Masekela band.
Mtukudzi and Ringo collaborated on the latter’s song which is a hit.
Zimbabweans in South Africa will have a chance to pay their last respects to the late Tuku who succumbed to diabetes and was buried at his rural home in Madziva.
