NBS and Public Service Commission Seal the $60million dollar Deal For Civil Servants


The Public Service Commission together with National Building Society (NBS) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOU) on the implementation and coordination of housing scheme for public servants worth $60 million in Harare.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare, Dr Sekai Nzenza assured civil servants that, the agreement signifies  government’s desire in mitigating their basic  needs.

“Today’s signing ceremony is a demonstration of Government’s commitment to meeting these needs of Public Servants and of a desire to uphold human dignity by aiming for global standards in the crafting of conditions service,” she said

The scheme was described as a non- monetary benefit for workers that will improve standards of living with particular focus on decent housing which they have also opened doors to willing partners to work with government through the diligent process.

However, No clear date has been put forward on when the housing scheme is going to kickstart but so far applications are being processed.
